The Somatic Difference

High achievers tend to be exceptional thinkers, which is exactly why talk therapy often isn’t enough. When you can analyze your anxiety without it changing, the problem isn’t insight. It’s the entry point. Somatic therapy works directly with the nervous system, producing change that thinking alone can’t reach.

I practice a targeted form of therapy called Somatic EMDR, a specialized adaptation of one of the most rigorously researched trauma treatments available (a blend of EMDR and Somatic Psychotherapy). It’s precise, it’s deep, and for highly intellectual folks it’s often the thing that finally works.

I’m a somatic therapist based in Brooklyn, working with clients in-person and virtually throughout New York and California. My approach is direct and focused and won’t spend our time circling the same ground. As an advanced EMDR practitioner and Somatic Psychotherapist, I work at the level anxiety lives: the body based patters that talk therapy alone rarely reaches.

We will work with your history and your present day to get to the root of what’s keeping you stuck, so you can lead, relate, and live with more freedom and presence.
